Welcome to Eventbuddys

The concept for this website was born from the frustration I sometimes feel when wanting to attend a local event and knowing that there isn't someone in my inner circle who would go with me. If you are anything like me you are online ALOT and it just hit me one day, why not build a website for local people to sign-up for and attend events together. Local here means Lower mainland and Vancouver BC Canada.  

Here is my vision: I will make available all kinds of links to different local paperssuch as The Vancouver Sun , ticket venues(Ticketmaster), concert halls(The Commodore), radio stations (CFox) and local papers (The Straight) showing what is going on around town. Next, you sign up for an event. Here is the really great part, you can chat and meet people through the blogs or get to chatting through other mediums such as msn or facebook but the whole idea is to have enough people sign-up for an event so that an individual can feel safe and that they will have someone there to enjoy it with. 

This eliminates one major problem that I am often faced with: friends cancel at the last minute so you are either stuck with tickets and most likely no one to go with. We all have gone through this but I would love to help you see that event you've been dying to go to and have the knowledge that the person beside you is also happy to be there.

I know it is hard to meet new people and so I am hoping to open up the options for people who want to meet up in a group setting and enjoy themselves with others with similar tastes. To me this is a fantastic concept which can potentially eliminate the stress of cancellations or even dating blunders. I will be adding many different aspects to this site as I grow and learn new things about managing a website but the main purpose of helping people connect and enjoy safe, fun entertainment will always be my number one focus.
